Adult Literacy Tutors

Help adults improve their basic skills!

The Adult Literacy Tutoring Program matches volunteer tutors with adults who want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math or to learn the English language. Tutoring usually involves a commitment of about three hours per week which includes tutoring time and prep time. Tutors work with students one-on-one or in small groups.  Tutors meet with adult learners at community sites or serve adult learners enrolled in classes under the direction of a paid instructor through one of our partner organizations.

Tutor trainings & orientation

Tutor training series are offered throughout the year.  For more information or to register for an upcoming orientation and training session, please call 847-775-2549 or E-mail janderson@waukeganpl.info.  Working with adult learners is a rewarding experience, and we appreciate your time and your interest!
