How do I place a hold?
Locate the desired item in the catalog. Click “Request” which is located either below the title, or just near the top, just below the gray line. You will be prompted to enter your name and library card number, and select the location (Main Library) to pick up your hold. The system will tell you if your request has been successful or not. When the item is ready, the library will notify you by e-mail notification or a phone call, depending on what you have selected in your Personal Information.
Note: You can also call 847-623-2021 ext 236 to place items on hold for pick up.
How can I get a library card while the library is still closed?
If you are a resident of the Waukegan Public Library district, you can apply online for a temporary library card (application here). When the library reopens to the public, you will need to visit the Customer Service Desk with a picture ID and proof of address.
Can I return my items to the library?
Starting Monday, July 6, we will accept returns in the book drop located on Martin Luther King Dr. behind the Main Library.
Book Drop Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
