Ready to work on your English skills? The Library is here to help! Need help deciding which class is right for you? Call 847-775-2547 for more information.

Conversational ESL Program: Learn English by speaking it! In Conversational ESL, you’ll join other English language learners and volunteers to practice speaking. This program uses visual tools, small talk, and role play to teach native speakers of many languages to communicate in English, focusing on specific issues, like making a doctor’s appointment, placing an emergency call, parent/teacher conferences, and more. Classes offered Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in classroom AB on the main floor. Call 847-775-2547 or email to register.

ESL Tutoring: English language learners can work in small groups with a trained volunteer tutor, to achieve their goals. You’ll practice speaking, reading, and writing in English. If you would like to register for tutoring or volunteer with the program, please call 847-775-2549 or email.

Did you know?

Most of the Library’s adult learning classes – including our computer classes! – are offered in English and Spanish. That means that you can work on your English language skills but still take other classes, like our computer classes or health awareness, at the same time. Call 847-775-2547 to learn more.
