registerToday, September 27, is National Voter Registration Day – and if you’re not registered, stop in to the Library so that you can make your voice heard in November. You can register to vote at WPL until mid-October, but why wait?

Our partners at Mano a Mano Family Resource Center will be here on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 – 6 p.m. to make registration easy and convenient. Stop by the table on the main floor and ask for Soledad. Just bring your photo ID! You can also register online by visiting the Illinois Online Voter Application.

To register to vote in Illinois, you must:

  • be a United States citizen
  • be 18 years old on or before the date of the General Election (Nov. 8, 2016)
  • live in your election precinct for at least 30 days prior to Election Day
  • not be convicted and in jail
  • not claim the right to vote anywhere else

Not sure if you are already registered? Check the State Board of Election’s Voter Registration Lookup. You’ll just need to enter your name, birth date, and zip code to find out.

Your vote is your voice, so be sure you’re ready to vote in November!
