WHO qualifies for this service?
Waukegan Public Library’s Home Delivery service provides library materials to Waukegan residents who are unable to visit the library due to temporary or long-term physical illness or disability. Patrons must reside within the Waukegan Public Library service area and be eligible for a library card. All circulation policies apply.
WHAT Library materials are available and what is the cost?
Materials available for delivery include books (paperbacks, hard cover, and large print), audio books, magazines, music CD’s, and videos. You may request specific titles or books by your favorite authors. Materials will be selected for you based on the reading interests you indicate on the Home Delivery application. This is a free service provided by library staff and volunteers.
WHEN are the books delivered?
Deliveries are made the first and third Monday mornings of each month by dedicated library volunteers.
HOW do I sign up?
You may call Waukegan Public Library and ask for the Home Delivery Coordinator (847-623-2041) or you can fill out the online application form and submit it.
CAN I volunteer with the Home Delivery program?
Yes, the Home Delivery requires many volunteers to help with book selection, check out, and delivery. Please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 847-623-2041, extension 257 if you are interested in helping with this service.
