Description:Dr. Gilo Kwesi Logan will present a workshop sharing his personal liberation story stemming from 8 ½ years of travel involving 43 visits to 23 countries throughout North and Central America, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and West Africa. He will share his experience traveling the world in exploration of his humanity, and his identity as a man, an American, and an African American man. We will look to indigenous peoples, cultures, and values as touchstones in our search for value in our own lives, with a focus on Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, India, Ghana, Mali and more.
The Inward journey through Ebony Eyes has been described by audiences as fascinating, thought provoking, humorous, and rich with necessary learning for every race in the human family. Dr. Logans delivery has been called easy to listen to, genuine, passionate, and prolific. Through his craft as an accomplished educator, musician, poet, storyteller, and public speaker, Dr. Logan artfully depicts experiences from his journey through slide show, video, music, artifacts, poetry, and storytelling.
Dr. Logan is the founder, former executive director, and current program facilitator for S.O.U.L. Creations. He holds a doctorate in education and teaches courses in Justice Studies & African and African-American studies at North-eastern Illinois University in Chicago.
