Help adults improve their basic skills!
The Adult Literacy Tutoring Program matches volunteer tutors with adults who want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math or to learn the English language. The program serves adult literacy students and tutoring usually involves a commitment of about three hours per week. Tutors work with students one-on-one or serve adult learners enrolled in classes under the direction of a paid instructor. Tutoring takes place in public places such as libraries or College of Lake County sites throughout the county.
Program orientation sessions and the new tutor training series are offered throughout the year. For more information or to register for an upcoming orientation and training session, please call 847-775-2549 or E-mail janderson [at] waukeganpl [dot] info. Working with adult learners is a rewarding experience, and we appreciate your time and your interest!
