I originally hale from Detroit, MI, and have lived in Waukegan for the past 8 years.  I’m a wife and the proud mother of two girls, Anna (14) and Sadie Jane (2-1/2).  After obtaining my BS in Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan University, I worked in Juvenile Justice for several years before returning to graduate school (Roosevelt University) to get a Master’s Degree in Special Education, as well as Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.  Past teaching experiences include working for Chicago Public Schools and Zion District 6.  I currently work part-time for Grayslake District 127 and have coached volleyball and softball at several schools.  While spending time with my family is at the top of the list for me, I also enjoy traveling in the Upper Peninsula and of course, reading.  I am thrilled to be a part of the Waukegan Board of Trustees and supporting the growth of literacy in Waukegan.
