Be A Tutor
Help adults improve their basic skills!
The Adult Literacy Tutoring Program matches volunteer literacy tutors with adults who want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math or speaking English. The program serves adult literacy students and tutoring usually involves a commitment of about two to three hours per week. Tutors work with students one-on-one or assist instructors in a classroom setting. Tutoring takes place in public places such as libraries or College of Lake County sites throughout the county.
A Tutor Orientation meeting and Tutor Training Classes are held throughout the year. For more information or to register for an upcoming orientation and training session, please contact us. Working with adult learners is a rewarding experience, and we appreciate your time and your interest!
