ArtWauk
Join the party in downtown Waukegan on the third Saturday of every month! During an ArtWauk, downtown Waukegan becomes one big art gallery, featuring all kinds of art from local artists, sculptors, dancers and musicians.

Area Farmer’s Markets
Summertime in Lake County means farmer’s markets.  Area markets offer a variety of local organic, homegrown, or farm-raised products.  You’ll also find markets offering honey, syrup, cheese and bakery products. 

The beautiful Genesee Theatre, in downtown Waukegan, offers a varied schedule of entertainment. Catch a classic movie, dance in the aisles at a concert, or attend a talk given by a national celebrity. Recent performers include Anthony Bourdain and Willie Nelson.  Don’t miss the Ray Bradbury Storytelling Festival, the Library’s annual celebration of classic horror stories!
 
There’s always something going on in town! View the City of Waukegan’s monthly events calendar to find information on fireworks, parades, free concerts, community dances and much more!
 
The Park District is more than just parks! Sign up to take fun classes on all kinds of topics. Take yoga lessons, dance classes, and attend financial seminars. Kids’ programs include sports camps, music lessons, and theatre arts classes. Keep your eye on the special events calendar!
 
Whether you want to take a walk in the woods, go boating, or attend a fun program with your family, the Lake County Forest Preserves has something to get you outside and having fun! Use the “Activity Finder” to learn more about all the Forest Preserve has to offer.
