The library has two arms for charitable giving, the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library and the Waukegan Public Library Foundation a 501 (c) (3). Although both groups exist solely to support the library, each has a unique mission and opportunities for getting involved.
The Friends of the Waukegan Public Library
The Friends are a not-for-profit, voluntary organization
whose primary focus is to raise money through used book sales through
the Friends Bookstore located on the lower level of the library. Joining
the Friends is also a great way to get involved with the library
and the community of Waukegan.
