Ask your Congressman: The Concord Coalition

Date and Time:
Tuesday, September 24, 2013 - 10:00am12:00pm
Congressman Brad Schneider is hosting an exercise to address federal budget concerns facing our nation today. Residents of the Tenth Congressional District will have the opportunity to put forth the policies they think best to reduce the nation’s deficit and improve the long-term fiscal outlook for the country.

Sara Imhof of The Concord Coalition - a nationwide, non-partisan, grassroots organization advocating generationally responsible fiscal policy – will facilitate an interactive exercise where participants work in small groups to discuss several policy alternatives to reduce projected deficits. Participants will discuss discretionary and defense spending, entitlement reform proposals, and taxes.
With this event Congressman Schneider hopes to educate attendees on the current state of our economy, the national debt and the consequences associated with running government deficits, and engage them in civil dialogue about solutions and improving the nation’s outlook.
