Tony was born in Mexico but has hailed from Chicago’s northside all of his life. He began to thrill audiences during his high school days with his smooth and unique singing style and his first band was a well-known Latin group “Sentimiento Y Sabor”. After a few years, he decided to shift his focus and formed a high energy 50s and 60s rock-n-roll show called “Bernie and the Boppers”. His show has now evolved into a dynamic Las Vegas style show after he spent four years directing Elvis impersonators from around the world.

Listeners of Jim Green’s music quickly realize, this musician is not bound by the usual sonic possibilities of the acoustic guitar. Jim Jacobs started playing trumpet at six years old by observing his older sister’s group lessons. Now, Jim plays with the Highland Park Pops and has performed at Lincoln Center, The Montreux Jazz Festival and toured Europe with Jazz Abroad. His jazz music influences are Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, and Chris Botti.

Bruce Williams has been a songwriter, producer, and musician since he was 14 years old. Over the years, Bruce has played or written songs in many different genres including swampy blues, jazz instrumentals, schmaltzy ballads, Latin funk, folkie rockers, and even classic movie themes. After moving to Illinois in 1968, Bruce has played in many different bands and venues in the Chicago area with his own unique interpretations of blues, jazz and soul songs with eclectic original material.

Edgar Garcia and Loko Amor - July 19

Loko Amor was founded in Chicago in 1996 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Edgar Garcia, who hails from Mexico. Before arriving in the U.S. in 1985, Edgar spent four years singing lead in a university-based “tuna” troubadour group which performed a wide repertoire of popular and folkloric songs from Spain and Latin America. Once arriving in the U.S., Edgar began performing at various schools, libraries, festivals, restaurants and parties and met various musicians along the way. Among these were flamenco guitarists Hector Fernandez and Thomas Kimball, who became friends and collaborators. Loko Amor features a wide repertoire of popular and folkloric songs, from the gypsy rumbas of Spain to romantic boleros from Cuba, from Colombian cumbia to Mexican huapango, from the classics to new compositions.

Mary Barrett and Paul Wood have been playing Irish music together for delighted audiences since 2001. What started as a church musician connection evolved into an Irish music collaboration after discovering a shared love for the land and the music. Sharing common roots in County Kerry, Ireland, the name BANNA is taken from a beloved beach (Banna Strand) in the region. Comprised of a beautiful blending of rich voices, guitar and some lively electronic background accompaniment to get your feet a’tappin’, BANNA’s music will transport you to places both majestic and magical.
