The Waukegan Public Library serves an ethnically

seeking an outgoing, service oriented staff to learn and grow in
the profession, in a stimulating and challenging environment.

Title: : Integrated Library System Manager
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000, plus excellent benefit package
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Description of Duties:
Daily manages the library's integrated library software system and equipment
Works with the library's integrated library system vendor to track updates bi-annually and changes, and begins to resolve problems within 24 hours
Maintains the library's catalog, including authority files, I types, location codes, etc.
Provides routine maintenance of desktops running the integrated library software in various departments
May oversee the integrated software server
Configure and install software to Library owned client computers
Maintain current and relevant knowledge of emerging computer related technologies
Researches and makes recommendations for ways to improve operations and services
Works with the library's information technology manager to provide support of the software and hardware running the library software package on a regular basis
Provides training opportunities on use of the library software modules and computer productivity software programs
Skills and Qualifications:
Master's degree in library or information science a plus
Bachelor's degree in computer science
Extensive knowledge of the library's current integrated library system, Innovative Interfaces Millennium series
Familiarity with productivity software and e-mail
Must be able to logically troubleshoot problems in all computer hardware, software and related technology areas
Able to work with vendors and service providers
Self motivated, able to work independently
Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to create clear, precise written instructions for using software applications
Ability to provide training opportunities for others
Ability to deal with a diverse staff
Able to spend up to 8 hours per day using a computer workstation
Able to lift up to 50 pounds of materials, equipment, or supplies
Able to reach equipment at floor level up to 60 inches high
Able to bend, squat, kneel intermittently up to 1 hour
Able to learn new technology skills
Able to think clearly under pressure
