There are two
ways to renew your items from the convenience of home:
Renewing Online
Connect to the
library's web page at http://www.waukeganpl.org.
Click on the Library Catalog
Page link toward the bottom of the screen. Click on View
Your Card at the Main Catalog Page and follow the prompts.
Or simply click Here.
Renew by Telephone
Call our Telephone Renewal System (TRS) at 847-623-2155 (this is
a local call) Follow the prompts on the recording. You must have
your library card number ready and all barcodes for the items you
want to renew. Using this system you may:
-
- Renew checked
out items *
-
- Get a list of
items that are currently checked out to you
-
- Check for overdue
fines
* Please Note: You can renew your loan even after its due date. However, you will not be able to renew anything if you have a fine of $5.00 or more. Renewing will not waive the fine that has already occurred.
Placing Holds
Locate the item in the catalog and view the full
record. Click on the "Request" button and at the next screen provide
your name and library card number, and select a location. If there
are no problems the system will tell you that the request has been
sent to the library. When the item is ready, you will receive an
e-mail notification, a phone call or a card in the mail, depending
on what you have selected.
E-mail notifications
If you prefer to be notified about requests or overdue
items via E-mail, you may change your preferences through My Card,
or, from the main catalog page, click on View
your Card, follow the prompts and then click on "Modify Personal
Info."
